Life With Riley

Thanks to Grandpa & Grandma H. we have a good bit of new photographic content for your viewing pleasure! The images come from a pretty lengthy span of time – April 2005 through the present – so you can see just how much Baby Boo has changed since she was born.
Things in NC are good – the weather is still trying to make up its mind whether it wants to be spring or winter. It makes things interesting when you don’t know if it’s going to be in the 70s or 30s on any given day. We got a bit of rain recently, but our part of the state (and actually most of NC for that part) is still in a pretty severe state of drought. We thought about trying to help get rid of some of the extra water in Three Rivers when the flood hit recently, but things just didn’t work out.
Riley has her 18-month check up soon, I can’t believe that she’s a year and a half old already. We’re working with her on animal names (she’s pretty good with the sounds already and is picking up on the names pretty quickly too) and counting. If we can work it out we’ll work on a new video to share with some of her new skills and sayings. Hope that all is well with our friends and families, feel free to shoot us an email or leave some comments.

Well who would have guessed it – Dad finally got around to uploading all of the pictures from Riley’s Fantastic Fun First Birthday celebration! There are lots of pictures – so it should make up a teensy tiny bit for the lack of updates this summer 🙂 You can go see all of the fun that we had right here!

Riley can’t say that she doesn’t have geeky and tech savvy parents. Beth has been busy and here is the result of her hard work. [Update 7 Nov]: Apparently just including new pictures does not really rank as much of a true ‘change’ to Riley’s site since there’s no real content. Let me see if I can change that…part of the reason for the short post is that Dad is under the weather with a nice little head cold and between medication and the constant pressure in my head it’s hard for me to concentrate for an extended period of time. I’ve been told multiple times already that this is something for me to get used to for the next 4 to 16 years as Baby Boo will be sharing her baby illnesses with Mom and Dad – oh joy.
On a related note – the weather here in NC seems determined to keep me sick. I just wish that there was some consistency and not this 70 degree, nice warm weather and then 20 degree cold, damp crud. At least it wasn’t raining when I went to vote this morning (and I hope that everyone who reads this has done their civic duty and cast the ballots wherever you might be!), although it’s been drizzly ever since (there are good and bad things about having lots of windows at work). We hope that you’ve enjoyed the Halloween and new November pictures of Riley – she is really starting to come into her own and it’s fun to get to play with her now that she’s more interactive.
